3-Days and 3-Nights
Focus on the Arts is a 3-day and 3-night Fine Arts Festival planned by the Highland Park High School Fine Arts Department in partnership with the PTO. The program immerses the HPHS students and adult community in a celebration of the fine arts: visual art, architecture, creative writing, dance, drama, media and music.
Focus 2017 will be held on April 25-28, 2017. All events are held at Highland Park High School, free of charge and open to the public (some events may need tickets).
Our special evening events include:
An Opening Night Musical Performance (April 25) which includes performances by professional musicians and Highland Park High School Students.
Art Night (April 26) where professional and student artists are invited to exhibit and demonstrate their work.
Dance Night (April 27) featuring an array of professional Dance companies from the Chicago area and our own HPHS Collage Dance Troupe.
The over 250 daytime events (April 26-28) include master classes, hands-on workshops, demonstrations, lectures and performances spanning the entire spectrum of the arts. HPHS has a diverse student population and we strive to provide multi-cultural programs and a broad range of workshops during Focus. We hope our entire community has the opportunity to explore, engage and be enlightened by FOCUS 2017!
